TextDrive is doc-viewer for PalmOS computers. It has reach formatting features, including true justification. It also supports hyphenation for many languages. It is freeware too.

TextDrive now supports Sony Clie PDA and Palm OS 5.x. Added support fo high resoulutions and expansion cards.

I improved hyphenation scheme. You don't need long-time "hyphenate" operation now. Just select used language and program will hyphenate text on-fly. Some bugs was fixed as well.
I crafted hyphenation libraries for English and Russian language. If anyone interested in such libriaries for other language feel free to mail me.

Wow! That was a long period of silence. But there is some good news too: I
finished (at last!) new version of TextDrive.

09.08.2001 -- Hyphenation
Presently you need to hyphenate each document on your PC. This can be done by "Hyphenate" command-line utility. Program has following usage:
hyphenate.exe <in_file> <out_file> <hyp_file> <low_alphabet_chars> <hi_alphabet_chars>
id_file - your
text file
out_file - where to put hyphenated text
hyp_file - file with hyphentation patterns (see below)
low_alphabet_chars - small chars of your language alphabet
hi_alphabet_chars - large chars of your language alphabet
examples:
hyphenate.exe study.txt study_hp.txt english.hyp abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
This program uses TeX hyphenation algorithm and it's hyphenation files (a bit modified). Words are split using special pattern-dictionary (hyp file). Archive of the program contains two such files english.hyp and russian.hyp. You may use custom dictionaries for your language. TeX system has many pattern files for many different languages, just try here. Having such file remove all unneeded lines, leave only word patters one per each line.
